Monroe

“Mo”

Mo is the red horse who started it all—and he has opinions.

At 23 (turning 24), he’s still full of life, spice, and sass. He’s the kind of horse who greets you with a snort, demands his meals exactly when he wants them, and keeps everyone on their toes (in the most lovable way). If there’s a wheelbarrow tipped over or a gate unlatched, chances are Mo was involved.  He’s been with us through thick and thin, and as he’s aged, he’s taught us more than we ever imagined about what it means to truly care for a horse.

But behind all that fire is a horse who’s faced more than his fair share of challenges. Mo lives with PPID (Cushing’s), hypothyroidism, and Insulin Resistance (IR)—and he’s a classic hard keeper. Managing his care means constant attention to detail: balancing meals, fine-tuning supplements, monitoring every shift in mood or weight.

Mo is the reason we started searching for better solutions.
Red Horse Ranch exists because we wanted more for him—and now, we want more for horses like him everywhere.  Mo is the reason we started this journey. His resilience, mischief, and heart are the foundation of Red Horse Ranch.

Because every horse deserves to feel good—and still be completely themselves.
